THE
GARDENS
Cringlemire
Cottage has a 5 acre garden, with magnificent views over Lake
Windermere. The magnificent garden attracts an abundance of wildlife
- deer, badgers and woodpeckers are frequently seen, and sometimes we are
lucky enough to have red squirrels. The garden at Cringlemire was
designed by noted Lakeland designer Thomas Hayton Mawson. Over the
past 30 years the owners have restored the original path around the gardens
which runs through a pretty woodland glade. From the top of the
garden there is a breathtaking view of Windermere to the south.
We
recommend that young children should be supervised.
There
is a separate lodge which is used by the owners.
