Welcome to
Cringlemire Cottage in Troutbeck, located in the heart of the Lake District
between Ambleside and Windermere.
Cringlemire
is a traditional stone built cottage situated in a prime position overlooking
Lake Windermere. This charming property retains a wealth of character and
has wonderful views over the lake and nearby fells. Set in five acres of
beautiful gardens and woodland, the cottage resides alongside the imposing
manor house it once served.
Cringlemire
is ideally situated for those looking for a peaceful holiday, yet the
cottage is not isolated. Cringlemire is a gentle 1-mile stroll away
from pretty Troutbeck village where guests will find a post office, church
and two traditional pubs. Ambleside is also easily accessible to
ramblers over the path at the rear which runs through National Trust
farmland and past the famous viewpoint of Jenkin Crag. Why not return
by boat as far as the Lake District National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole,
and then follow the bridlepath back up to Cringlemire? There are
plenty of other walks close by, and of course all the visitor attractions
are easily accessible by car. We are close to the the fabulous gardens of
Holehird, home of the Lakeland Horticultural Society
